Volunteering during the River Rafting 30th of April

If you volunteer during the River Rafting you will recieve a ticket to the champagne galopp at Östgöta Nation that will break the line as an extra thank you.

Finish volunteer

Are you excited to see how the rafts are taken care of from the finish area and to see how happy the rafters are once they reach the finish line? As a finish volunteer you will help the soaked rafters on to dry land, make sure they are registered at the secretary and help clean up the remains of the once stunningly beautiful rafts. The brave one will also venture on to the Fyris River in a rowing boat to capture the hard-to-get styrofoam pieces. Don’t hesitate to apply! As a thank you gift, you will have a free entry to Östgöta nation’s champagne gallop. Can not be combined with rafting.

Start volunteer

Do you want to be the first to see all the rafts while they still are in good condition on Valborg? Then apply to start volunteer! As a start volunteer you will help us to dot by all team members, hand out starting tickets and breakfast for the rafters and help keeping order in the starting area. To show our appreciation, we will give you free entrance to Östgöta Nation’s champagne galop. Start volunteer can not be combined with river rafting.

Guard volunteer

Have you ever thought about the fact that there’s a lot of people along the Fyris river during valborg? Do you think that sometimes it just gets a bit too crowded and messy? Maybe you’re one of those people who like orderliness and structure? Then you should apply for Guard Volunteer! You will help SÄK keep the area around the river safe for everyone, by for example keeping an eye on heavily trafficked pedestrian crossings, or controlling the cordoning and fences along the river. As a gesture of our gratitude you will receive a ticket to the Östgöta nation champagne galop. Working as a guard volunteer can not be combined with river rafting.

Raft watchman volunteer

As a raft watchman volunteer, you will, as the name tells, watch all rafts from when they come to the starting area until Valborg morning. The pass is divided into 2 groups, which watch different times, so if you have a friend you want to watch with, it will be possible that you are divided into the same group. The tasks are to guard the starting area and the equipment that is there (sound and electricity) and keep eyes of the rafts. Those of you who have an evening pass will get a simple dinner and you who have a night pass will have the runner breakfast on Valborg morning. All raft watchman volunteers will get free entry to the Champagne galopp at Östgöta nation.

Security volunteer

It sounds a bit dangerous to go down the river on a piece of styrofoam, doesn't it? As a security volunteer you will help ensure that the rafting will be both fun and safe! It will be your important task as a security volunteer to communicate with the rafters and tell them when to begin their journey towards the daunting waterfalls. As a gesture of our gratitude, you will receive a ticket to the Östgöta nation champagne galop. Working as a security volunteer can not be combined with river rafting.

VIP volunteer

Perhaps the most luxurious voluntary position of them all! As a VIP volunteer you will help out in the exclusive VIP area during the River Rafting having the best view in all of Uppsala while doing so. You will also ensure that only those who are allowed gets in and keep our VIPs happy by making sure that they get food and drinks. Can not be combined with river rafting.
