Are you excited to see how the rafts are taken care of from the finish area? As a finish volunteer you will help the soaked rafters on to dry land, make sure they are registered at the Secretariat and help clean up the remains of the once stunningly beautiful rafts. The brave one will also venture on to the Fyris River in a rowing boat to capture the hard-to-get styrofoam pieces. Don’t hesitate to apply! Can not be combined with rafting.
Do you want to be the first to see the creative and inventive rafts on Valborg? While they are still intact so to speak. Then apply to start volunteer! As a start volunteer, you will help make sure every raft has all their members there, hand out starting numbers and breakfast for the rafters and help keeping order in the starting area. Start volunteer can not be combined with river rafting.
Have you ever thought about the fact that there’s a lot of people along the Fyris river during valborg? Do you think that sometimes it just gets a bit too crowded and messy? Maybe you’re one of those people who like orderliness and structure? Then you should apply for Guard Volunteer! You will help SÄK keep the area around the river safe for everyone, by for example keeping an eye on heavily trafficked pedestrian crossings, or controlling the cordoning and fences along the river. Raft guard volunteer
After the rafts are moved down to the river on the day before the River Rafting, someone needs to guard them. As a raft guard volunteer you will help guard them the day and night before the rafting (29-30th of April). We’ll make sure you won’t freeze as we will provide you with a heating radiator and several blankets. As a gesture of our gratitude you will get the absolutely best breakfast in the world. Can be combined with river rafting.
It sounds a bit dangerous to go down the river on a piece of styrofoam, doesn't it? As a security volunteer you will help ensure that the rafting will be both fun and safe! Mainly you do this by keeping track of the number of rafters coming down the falls and communicating with the divers in the water as well as the rafters above Kvarnfallet. Can not be combined with river rafting.
Perhaps the most luxurious voluntary position of them all! As a VIP volunteer you will help out in the exclusive VIP area during the River Rafting having the best view in all of Uppsala while doing so. You will also ensure that only those who are allowed gets in and keep our VIPs happy by making sure that they get food and drinks. Can not be combined with river rafting.
